Upgrading from DocuFire 4.x to DocuFire for Windows version 5.x

1. Go to Add/Remove programs and Uninstall the old DocuFire Server Program
2. Shutdown SQL Service MKSOFTWARE and set to Manual Startup
3. Open Regedit and delete, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acudata\Sheriff\ProductID\5355-8651-2429-7641-5701



SMTP error 550 unable to relay

This error indicates that the SMTP server you have specified in DocuFire Server is rejecting your request to send mail.

There are two basic ways to solve this;

1. Use authentication (User name and password setup in DocuFire Server Manager, under System/Email/SMTP)
2. Enable SMTP relay on your exchange server either by IP address or IP block

The DocuFire Server SMTP settings include a TEST button to test your connection.
